Pneumatically powered (compressed air) , air pallets are generally a perfect choice for indoor places such as factories & warehouses. Working on a smooth, level, non-porous flooring, they can lift loads away from a loading dock to their intended destination in a short period of time. Air pallets can lift & move loads up to 4500kgs with very minimal human effort. For loads beyond 4500kgs, Rotair Systems offers custom-built air pallets to suit your requirements. Options include the fitting of integral guide wheels to help with steering, and drive wheels to ensure of propulsion. The same as their aluminium platform transporter counterparts, they’re also relatively low profile and have a height of around 2 inches with deflated air bearings. Air pallets are available with either A-type or B-type air bearings, depending on the proposed use, type of flooring, and type of load they would be transporting. A-type air bearings are the conventional standard fit, and when they are energised, they move the load away from the floor surface “just enough” to float the load which could then be moved off to its envisioned spot. This type of set up requires the load to be put upon the air pallet. When air pallets set up includes B-type air bearings, the features of air pallets alter slightly. B-type air bearings have a lift height that makes them carry a load or pallet away from its base before moving it laterally to its location. This type of lift is available for many circumstances when loads are not able to be put on the air pallet by other methods. In addition to the higher lift of the B-type air bearings, they also are a little more powerful and could often work on flooring which look rougher than the standard smooth concrete type of flooring. However, they do use about the twice the amount of compressed air as the A-type air bearings do. However, in certain instances the B-type are definitely required for the job and are well worth the additional compressed air that is used.
